Met my bud from N.C. in Virginia to do a little catfishing on Chicahomany river. River a little high yet from the big rain, 6 inches. We caught alot of eater size and these to bigger ones,26 & 27 lbs.. Most fish were caught on cut eel. Slimmy mf's they are.

Stayed at a place call River's Rest, right on the river. Nothing fancy and cheap.Very friendly people down there. Once we learned the tide change we did well. Had better luck on the out going tide. Probably going back down end of April beginning of May.They say it is REALLY good then.

That's my home water and watchout for May. The spawn starts end of April beginning of May and there is zero bite until almost end of June. I strongly strongly and cannot say it enough recommend going from Mid March -Mid April. Ocean Stripers and two types of Shad and two types of Herring are in the river spawning and the blue cats and big stripers are gorging on the Shad and Herring. Wait until May and it will be a bust.
