I carried my 10 year old grandson to the river yesterday. We set out around 7:00 A.M. to do some bream fishing with 200 crickets.I carried him to a spot I'd fished before and we only picked up a few. So,I carried him to another area I had found fish before and we started catching fish and around 11:00 I said we needed to leave so he could rest up before his ball game last night.Anyway he talked me into fishing for another hour or so.I told him we would fish until we ran out of crickets if he wanted and yes you know the answer to that.We ran out of crickets around 12:30 which wasn't to bad but it was hot.We ended up keeping 88 fish and started to head back in and he asked if he could run the boat. There again he is 10 years old.I just told him when he was big enough to start the motor he could run it.You guessed it, he ran the motor on the way back.Anyway I had a blast with him fishing and thought I would share it.Here are some pictures of our adventure.Tell me ,do you think he was happy?

I'd say that is probably one really proud boy, about as proud as grandpa. Congrats to you both. You just reminded me, I have a friends young son to take out.

    Buddy,

That right there is what it's all about brother. That young man not only had a great time fishing, but he also saw that Grandpa put enough trust in him to operate the boat.

Those smiles are worth a million my friend, thanks for sharing..

Great Post. Some of my best fishing/outdoors memories are times spent with my grandfather before he passed.

Your grandson will remember it the rest of his life. Reps coming your way.
