Richard the fireman paid a horrible price that day for people they protect.
My son is a fireman & medic and fireman hold a special place in my heart
because I know what they are all about.
Fireman have a beeper built into their turnout gear that goes off if they
are not moving after a certain length of time. That day there were hundreds
of beepers all beeping at the same time. I will never forget that sound and
I hope no one else does either.
Our company trucks have back-up beepers. Not long ago we had five trucks
at the same location. When we left we had to back up several hundred yards.
All five truck beepers blareing at the same time made me think of 9/11
and brought tears to my eyes.
