I went last night for 3 hours and ended up breaking my line on the very first run that I had at 9:15 pm. At 10:30 I caught a 30"er, 13 lbs. As I was releasing it, I had another good run that ended up in a "swing and a miss". At 11:30 I had another good run that ended up being a 31"er, 14.5 lbs. When I grabbed the fish by the lower jaw, I was suprised to see two hooks in its mouth. One was the line and leader that I had break off at 9:30 ! I removed both hooks and sent him on his way. I've never had this happen before. Just though it was kind of strange.

thats pretty wild, had a Bass once break off and swim away with a rooster tail in his mouth, worked my way up the Bank and when I came back by the laydown where I lost the Bass I made a few casts then BAM, reeled in the bass and my rooster tail hangin' from his lip.:smile2:

Ya just never know what them critters will do

Not too sure! I was fishing around a lot of snags. I guess that there is something pretty rough down there! The line broke on the hook set. I didn't even feel the fish.

That maybe it, he didnt know what happened so he wasnt effected. I have caught smallmouth and largemouthbass on beds repeatively during hte spawn. But big flats---it is usually a miss, a quick cry, a curse fest, threee beers, and then rebait!!!!!:tounge_out:

Sounds like a good night I am getting jelous The rivers down here will not stay in the banks long enough for me to go fishing. I made one trip last weekend fishes for 3 hours didnt get a bite and by the time I got back to the boat ramp the river was coming out.

I lost a channel cat last summer that i was sure was a hog, he found a snag and broke me off. Thirty minutes later i caught a eight lb. channel, with my circle hook in the courner of his mouth. Kept the hook and released the fish!!
