I got a large envlope in the mail from the USDA.I opened and it in side was a Census asking me about my farming opperation.I don't own a farm nor have I ever owned one.It says that "by law" I have to fill it out and mail it to them by Feb 1 08.Now I have been thinking about this but how do I fill out a Census about a farm that does not exist?? Then I saw it was addressed to "J.M.Faulkner" my father who has been dead for 40 years this Jan.30.He sold his farm more than 54 years ago when I was 6 months old.You can bet I will call them on Wed.and give somebody a very large cussing out for doing this to me.The Great U.S.Goverment sending mail to a man that's been dead for 40 years asking about a farm that he sold over a half century ago. Your tax dollars at work!!!!!

    Kenny,
There's nothing wrong with the USA,it's some of the people that live in the USA that are the problem. I had an oldtimer tell me that about 30yrs. ago,and at first I didn't quite understand what he was talking about, but you know what, the older I get,the better I understand what he told me. Think about it.

Jim they're just checking to make sure there's not a family farm out there somewhere.
Can't have that now. Against the government. Soon we'll have to have a garden permit, and pay taxes on the produce we raise in our backyards.

We got something like that from the government on my father in law but he hadn't been dead but 4 years. But 40 years is unreal and uncalled for.

But it will probably be hard to talk to the person that sent it. A few years ago I had a problem with the IRS, I could never talk to the same person twice, even with the last persons name.

I think turnabout is fair play. Invite some friends over, get you favorite beverages and make out that damn census. Let me see forty years....should have about 200 employees by now. Some of questionable origin is always a good way to save some bucks......:smile2:
