I saw that in the paper.. what a big chunk of fish bait. Do you think it will fit on an 8/0 Gamakatsu for a flathead? ;)

I wonder how many 1000's of eggs that thing has layed. I'm glad he killed it. No CPR on asian carp.:smile2:

Amen to no CPR on Asian carp. As an avid carp fisherman I do not like getting confused as advocating the release of these types of carp (Asian, Bighead, Silver). The size of the beast amazes me. I would love to catch it on R&R but then decommision it to catfish bait.

The Kentucky Fish & Game Authorities have told me personally to throw them on the bank and not to put them back in the water. They are taking over our waterways and one day could severly hurt our native species.

I find that a knife to the guts then back in the water so they don't stink up my bank spots works well.

We occasionally go snag these stupid things at the Peoria Lock and Dam on the Illinois River. In a good night you can snag between 50 and 100. They usually run between 5 and 25 lbs. The biggest one we have gotten in the boat was 38 lbs. Snagging them is a blast but we make sure that they don't make it back in the river to lay more eggs.
