I have my boat stored at a friend's house and his 8 yr old decided to get in it and play. He pulled the choke knob and broke off the mechanism from the carbureutor and completely flooded it. I have new parts on order and they'll be here soon. In the mean time I was able to get the choke mechanism reattached be using washers under the screws but the motor won't idle. It will start if I hold the throttle open a little. I put new spark plugs in it too. What do I need to do to get it to idle besides cuss at it which didn't help.:sad2::confused2:

if your boat was setting for more than three months, and you didn't run the fuel out of the carb.your idle circuit is clogged .just take off the carb, get a kit and soak it in carb cleaner over night, rinse with water, blow it out with compressed air reassemble, and your problem will be solved.larry d. grady

I discovered that it had a shattered float. It's running fine now.
