My wife and I went to the MS river yesterday. Started out with catching some sikipjack 10"-12" long. Got anchored around 1pm. (98 feet deep). We put 4 poles out, all with whole skippies. 20min into the trip a rod went down, i knew when the made the first run that it was a desent fish. After about ten minutes (I dont like to pull them up to fast in that deep of water) the big girl roled up beside the boat and my wife netted her like a pro. She tipped the scales @ 39.15lbs. pics were taken, celebration was had and the fish was then returned home. 30min or so latter the same rod went down for a second time. this time it was Stephanie's turn. The fight was very intense and went on for bout 20min, every time she would make up ground the fish would make another run. when the cat showed herself at the boat my wife and I both got big eyed:crazy: Finally got her in the boat. She tipped the Berkly scales @ 47.1lbs. The pic of me standing up is my wife's fish (she could't hold her up). the big girl was tired but after 10 of me reviving her she swam away with nothing more than her feelings hurt. A great day of fishing with one I love the most.
