78, 17.5ft Rinker Tri-hull inboard-outboard

    So this is my first boat and man Im pumped!
    But theres some questions I need answered. Like will my tri hullset deeper in the water than a deep V?..Cause Id like to put in at Dresden here in ohio and go down to Ellis but I dont want to bottom out either ..Ill post more when time alows . Thanks

    I would think it would not have the draft of a deep vee. The tri-hull is flatter on the bottom than a deep vee, so the water should support the boat better. There will not be much difference, but there will be some.

    You should be running a little shallower than a deep v in my way of thinking. Althouth I have not been wrong yet this year so I may be due!

    i just sold a 1978 18 foot larson I/O tri hull boat last fall. it sat up in the water pretty high compared to all of the v hull boats i had before.

    It makes sence to me that it would draw less water, Im excited about it Ill have to get a book on the inboard/outboard part of it

    Another question...whats the differnece between a inboard/outboard and just an inboard?

    inboard is like a ski boat just has a shaft comes out to the prop and steers with a rudder

    whats the difference between knots and MPH...or 35 on water to 35 on land?
