Yes, it is the lower end 7000. I have not tried one so I cant say how good or bad it is.

The reel itself looks nice but I don't like that it's specs are for only a single bearing. Could that mean the only bearing in the reel is the one way roller for the anti-reverse? I would have to think so. Why would they even make a single bearing reel anymore, just doesn't make sense with the years of quality reels behind them. Do they want to revert back to the original 5000 style to save the almighty $$.

Hello Daryl, abu's make great reels, you can modify the 7000 with what you want. Check out the BOC member library under Rod and Reel Informations, that will help you out. I upgraded the bushings to bearings and switched out the drag washers, huge difference now.

I don't have one, I have the 7000iCS Pro Rocket, but I will just about guarantee the old red will more than do the job for you. This reel has not been around for a long time because it has defects. For a weekend or serious catfisherman, I believe the 7000 red has paid its dues and still stands tall. Most ABU'S have.

Haven't owned one personally but i know of at least 5 people who do and have had problems with the clickers. I don't know if there was just a bad batch or if they went to a different clicker setup. But in the cases i know of the clickers just stopped working.

yeah, not hard to fix, but ya shouldnt oughta have to soon after ya buy it.
Also the buttons for the clickers like to "hang up" and can some times be a downright P I T A to engage.
