Hey Guys..found a deal on refurbed ABU 6600's. I've never run across them before.Look like 6500's minus the power handle. Any one ever tried them ?I know their not James River Winches but they look like they will handle eaters.

is it a c4? i had a 6600d5 like in the pic. it was $99.99 but i got it on clearence for $59.00. i sold it the following year for $49 on ebay to buy a muzzedloader 45 cal on clearence for $40 from $139. i love the muzzeloader but thet d5 casts a mile. that was one of the best reels ive owned. but i think your reffering to the c4's i dont have one but the pics look like there just as good as the 6500's or better.

did ya get one? if so how much?

The difference between the 6600 and the 6500 is the way the spool is released to freespool. On the 6000/6500 reels, you release the spool with a push button on the upper side of the endplate. The 6600 (or 4600,5600 also), there is a thumb bar you push to release the spoo to cast. All other parts are the same. The D5 and D6 models are entirely different, but have a thumb bar release.

The 6600 will handle alot more than eaters, try 50-lb flatheads.

I have a trio of 6600C4 that I absolutely love. They are the best catfishing(I use them in saltwater as well) reels for me. I prefer the thumb bar release too. I like them so much, I got rid of my low profile bass reels(except the Revos) and bought 2 5600 and 2 4600 C4s.

Crab that setup looks almost just like mine. My reels are on 2 Berkley Big Game and 1 Glowstick. I have the exact same Reel Grips on mine too.
