Does anybody know how to get the cog gear loose from the side plate, is it a press fit? Also I need help with getting the six pin and weights loose from my spool. I'm doing a complete tear down and cleaning and need help in these two areas. Thanks Mike

On the left cog wheel there should be a c-clip, or on older reels a screw holding it to the shaft. the brake assembly is attached to the spool with a wire clip. there are 2 notches, or breaks in the center of the spool. simply use a pick, or a small screwdriver and gently pry the wire from it's groove and the brake will slide right off.

The newer reels have a pressed on cog gear on the left end cap on a right hand reel. You should be able to pull on it a little and it will pop right off. Ray
