The markland pool, around downtown Cincinnatti..We were set up in about 5 foot of water near a BUNCH of downed trees, and right on the ledge of about a 20 to 25 foot drop...He hit at about 3 in the morning

Matt, sounds like you knew EXACTLY where to go to catch the ONE. Congratulations!!! That is a whopping big catfish. How about a fishing story (a real fishing story) ?) How long did it take to get him in the boat, how hard did he fight, etc........

im not good at telling storys, but here it goes....It was getting late, and actually, i was ready to go..My fellow BOC members had not got their fill of the River, and wanted to hit one more spot..I agreed..So im heading back toward the boat ramp, and i see a nice hole that reached up to a flat and was right around alot of downed timber and trees...Of course that looked like prime time flathead habitat, so we stop...I had 1 more nice lively bluegill so i put him on and casted him over towards the timber in about 4 ft of water..My buddy Rivercat72 got a bite, set the hook, nice 12 lb channel, i was helping him get the hook out, and i noticed my pole just bounce a little, well i keep my eye on it, and it was bouncing a little , but very lite..The he bent the rod tip down very slowly, and just kept the pressure the rod, i get up, set the hook, AND BAM...He starts ripping drag out like crazy, he would take 20 yards of line, and i could only get 10 back, then he would take 15 yards, and i would only get 5 back..He fought like a world champ..I looked at my brother and in these exact words said.." I cant do anything with this fish, I think I have a Monster on..Well the fight went on for about 20 more minutes, when finally he surfaced..We were all amazed and were starting to get excited..My heart was beating so fast, i was shaking, and my knees felt weak..That was the time I started praying, cause when that fish saw us, He took another dive towards the bottom..I wrestled him back up to the surface about 2 minutes later, and by that time he looked pretty worn out, He would not fit in the landing net, so i handed my brother my ECAT rod, and i reached over the boat, and grabbed him by his mouth with both hands and lunkered him into the boat...Surprisingly he didnt start flopping around, We were both pretty tired..I snapped about 8 pics of him, and let him go on his way...THE END
