That's about it. Same size and line capacity. I have several of both, and I like the 6000 just as good as the 6500. Seems like every time we fish, the fish will dodge around a half dozen 6500s to get to a 6000! My 6000s have pulled 50+ lb fish in quite nicely.

In most of the situations you'll encounter during catfishing, you're not going to notice the difference between bearings and bushings. Save some dough and buy the 6000's. They'll last forever with minimal care.

Good advice, Chris. I believe your dad caught that big flattie on a 6000.

Yeah, Bill, it was either the 6000 or the only Penn that was on the boat. I can't remember which... We'll let the 6000 have the glory. :smile2:

I use the 6000's more than 6500's.Use old Penn's mostly for still fishing.Nothing wrong with bushings.

Same difference between a 4 cylinder and a 6 cylinder.

The 6 cylinder is gonna have more power!:cool2:

Yeah Blacky, not sure what you're getting at with your post??? :confused2:

They have the same gears and gear ratio, having bearings in a reel doesn't have anything to do with cranking power.

Besides, there are some KICK ASS 4 cylinder engines out now, so there's no guarantee that a 6 cylinder's got more power.
