    This is one bad MOFO! Own several Garcia's. This reel will out cast 2 Garcia's put together. No Joke! With the right pole, will cast 200 yard's +. Been chunkin 15# big game with 30# shock leader and bait 100+ yard's. Awesome reel

    The 525 is made by Penn and is part of their Graphite frame series...

    Crucial's right OldDriller! Penn GS series. Their's also a 535,545,555. All would make Awesome catfish reel's. With the right fishshing pole,CATFISH BEWARE! Search on them saltwater forum's can probably get a good deal,heck they'll even trade 4 somthin'.

    The 535 and up models would make better boat reels for the average "fishing joe" since they do have very heavy spools when filled with line and no real cast control. Better have a thumb with a Ph.D :wink:

    The 525mag reels are a staple of "surf fishing" and are excellent reels in ever right. Casting distances will of course depend far more on the person casting the gear than the reel it's self... but the fact that it doesn't have a level wind will get even a novice a few more yards.
