I just made an entry into my fishing logs and realized that I have caught (and released) 517 blue catfish so far in 2007!!! Only 10% (50 fish) weighed less than 5 lbs, and 50% of the total weighed over 10 lbs! If I figure 10 lbs as the average weight (half over and half under) that would be 2-1/2 TONS of blue cats I've boated in 6 months! Without the logs, I would have never guessed. I always felt that it was a pain to make the daily entries, but now I'm glad I did - lots of useful and fun info!

WOW that is a huge number Eric. Releasing them is why they are there, if you had kept them all like a lot of people do that would be a big number missing from the water you fish.

Eric, as much as you are on the water, you ought to be a guide. Most people won't catch that many fish in years. We are tickled for you buddy. Congratulations on your catches and releases. Now where did you say you released them?LOL:big_smile_2:

Thats a lifetime of fish for some people. Just think since you released all those fish you might get a 1000 next year.
