I was lines wet at 1530 today.
About 1700, I had a pieceof garlic chicken breast in the water, along with a nightcrawler.
I was in the process of retieing a line when this beauty tried to take off with my pole.
Not big, but bigger than the other three cats I've caught this year.
Sill got lines in the water. Two with chicken, one with Monster Punch Bait.
Weather is fine, so I'm not done yet.

TGP,
Great fish and really glad to see your getting into the bigger ones now!

Please keep us updated!
You know I'll do it.
I'm hoping for a bigger one tonight.

Well, heck !!!
I was checking bait. Reeled my Kastking Rover 50 in.
Didn't know this little critter was there until I went to lift hook and weight out of the water. That's when he started shaking. Rod didn't respond at all to the bite. But, that's still 2 for the day...so far. And second on garlic chicken.

When I pack it in, I'll make a post with all of them.
It's turned into a good day out here.
Of course, a bad day fishin is better than a good day workin.

Ok. Today was (considering how it has been going at Lake Overholser) a pretty good day.
Caught 4 catfish. No other species, and none on my two smallest rigs (which is kinda odd).
Here's the final line up. First (smallest) and last (largest) were caught with one of my Quantum Optix 60 reels.
The middle two were both hooked up on Kastking Rover 50R (a pretty decent reel. Casts good and smooth. Retrieve is the same)

They were all caught on garlic chicken breast.
I put two breasts in a tupperware type container, dashed some garlic salt on them, let them sit in an old bait igloo for a couple days.
They worked pretty well, IMO.

I have good luck with the chicken and garlic. Ya ever try jello chicken? I've tried once but they chose the regular chicken instead
Tried it a few times last year. Didn't even get a nibble.
I thought, yesterday, it might be prespawn,so they were eating.
A couple of them looked like fat bellies, full of eggs.

Only been after cats other than bull heads a couple years. Favorite for me is chicken breast with garlic and jello or kool aide. Surprised me how well it works here. Years ago I fished for bull heads a lot and my go to bait was beef liver. Tried calf liver here in Oregon but no luck, just to soft and can't keep it on the hook. Tried chicken liver one time here and using an egg loop on the hook really helped but stuff was gone with one small bite.

Well, dag blast it!!!
I should have came out earlier.
Got to the bank of the Canadian River beside Overholser about 1830. It's 2205 now.
Got a few twitches on Rover50 and the Lew's.
About 10 minutes ago the Lew's bent.
Had a #4 Aberdeen hook on it.
This little beggar swallowed most of the hook.
I spanked his tail,"Grow up and come back."

Priscilla would call it a kitten fish.
