Went out tonight caught some skipjack and started fishing in my flathead spot. I had fished for 45 minutes before I caught my first fish a 10# flathead. Fished for another two hours with bites from small ones but no fish then about 9:30 I see my pole doing some tugs then he went on a slow run but he was goin. I set the hook and the drag started singin. I knew I had a good fish he did 5 runs but the last one was a dandy he ran and ran right for the hangups a very good run. He just kept pullin line off on this last run. This fish had me wondering if hes coming in the boat or if hes goin home. Finally got the little cheap walmart net on him since the good one flew out of the boat a while back. Hes a 42# flathead 43 inches long 30 inch girth. caught in 32 feet of water near 55 foot hole on the Ohio River. water temp 76.6. Very clear night. Moon was out. very calm. Fish was released to fight another day.
