I had been fishing for about an hour and a half in a canal that feeds off the Colorado River with out a bite and then I put a monster bluegill on there about 9 inches long and layed the pole down on the ground sideways so all the moss coming down didnt catch my line. Then I seen my pole jump about a foot after about 10 minutes, got me looking at it and then I got that slow steady tug and the front eye on the pole started to bend. I grabbed my pole and waited until I felt him and set the hook it was like deep sea fishin from there after about 10-15 minutes I pulled in a nice 41 pound flathead he was 40 1/2 inches long. It was a good night.

Great job brother. Nothing like landing a hog after a few hours of nothing.
