40 h.p. evinrude

    i picked up a really good looking 1962 40 hp evinrude that looks like it doesnt have a whole lot of hours on it. when i bought it i didnt pay much attention to it being a electric shift and now im wondering bout pros/cons of such. any comments would be appreciated. thanks

    just interested because i have a '63 40 hp lark 4

    ya its a lark either 4 or 5 id have to check. its black with a little bit of white on th hood.and a v-shaped chrome trim.

    yep sounds like the motor i have on a 1968 crestliner deep V stern drive
    i was wondering if there was any way to attach it to my john boat to replace the 10 horse on there
    there probelm come with the cable/pulley steering i duno how that would work

    youd have to build a console for steering wheel and go from there,be alot of work but u could do it if th jon boat is a big one.
