This is a picture of 2 big coyotes out of 4 shot over a killed calf in Douglas co,Ks. all were shot with a 17 hummer at about 100 yds with hollow points, one was shot with a teflon tipped bullet from 17 ,it ran a1/2 mile before it dropped -I really dont care for the teflon tips, I really like the hollow points for stopping power, anyway these wont be killing calves or chickens anymore, and I really like the speed and accuracy of the 17 hmr. does anyone else have thoughts on 17 hummer killing power.

Hey Ned, those are some large coyotes. I'm not familiar w/ the .17 hummer; my neighbor loves long range shooting and swears by his .17 cal; however, I don't know what version of .17 he has.

Back in the winter of 76'-77'; my brother trapped 7 foxes from one dead cow.

Are you talking about the 17 HMR (Hornady Magnum Rimfire)?
