I had probably one of the best nights I can remember for flatheads. They were big and plentiful. I lost another one that I'm sure went 60+ but I can't complain. Location is undisclosed but will be back again to get back the one I lost in the log jam. I kept the two twins and realeased the other three big ones. What a night I'm still grinning.

Wow Chris, that's just awesome! I've never seen flatheads bite like that-5 nice ones in one night is beyond my comprehension. Way to go, and good luck with that one that got away. Let me know if you need some help, lol.

We have had so much dang water that the rivers are running very very fast and for a long time. The lakes all in Oklahoma are way above flood pool and will continue to let lots of water until there normal, which should be around late Aug. Those back water creeks on these rivers the fish will congregrate just to get out of the current. I was just fishing a small creek off a very fast moving river.

The big one I believe just got done spawning. His skin was very dark and this head was all swollen up just like a channel cat during the spawn. I think it had been a while since he eaten and was hungry. I was at the right place at the right time with FOOD.:smile2:

    Thanks for sharing the pics?
The biggest flatty I've caught was a 5 pounder.

    CONGRATS ON THE GREAT CATCH.
JUST WONDERING IF ALL OF THE WATER AFFECTS THE SPAWN? I KNOW THE PLACES I FISH AROUND HERE ARE PREETY FLOODED WITH ALL OF THE WATER BEING LET OUT OF THE LAKES.
