Thought I would share my homemade 30 gallon bait tank. I cut a drum at the 30 gallon mark. Cut out the lid and cut a cutting board to fit under the lid for support and to keep the water splash out of the boat. I cut a hole in the lid to slide in a 4 inch section of pvc pipe and secure it to the bottom with marine silicone. I have a clean out trap on top of the tank so I can pop in new filters when needed. The filters for window ac units work great. They wont get sucked into the pump. Drilled holes all around the pipe to suck water in through the filter into the pump and back out. I put an elbow fitting in the discharge and ran a air tube to it. As the pump runs it pulls air into the water flow. Perfect for blueback or shad. Only used a rule 360 and it keeps everything in a circular motion. All of the hardware is stainless and that add up quick $$. I think I have under a hundred in it.

Sorry I have not checked this in a while. In the picture you can see the clear tube coming down toward the pump. Now look at the pumps discharge hose, it is only about 5 inches long then it hits the 90 degree fitting. Just drill a small hole, to insert the clear hose. Only put a little ways in and then put some silicone on outside to hold in place. The force of the water pulls air down the tube and mixes pretty good. Some people put the air hose in the bottom of the pump to mix air in the propeller in the pump. They say it makes smaller bubbles.
