i finally made it to the james sat with justlearning (jerry) and caught my PB cat at 42 lbs and 41 in long. what a great day to be fishing. bite kinda slow most of day with a couple pull downs but no other hookups. bite started picking up at dark but so did the rain. i will get jerry to post pics later. i have not figured all this out yet. thanks to jerry for showing me the ropes.

Congratulations on the new PB. Jerry is a great guy and helps everyone who asks. Glad you had a good day.

The rain ran me off also. I am heading back out to meet my brother after I pick up my daughter from Vollyball. The evening bite has been good the last few days. Still waiting on the whopper Stripers that should show up anyday now.

For those that are interested, the 2008 tourney rules and forms are on the Ken Freeman website. I had sent an e-mail a couple of weeks ago about a different matter and got a reply from him. I checked the website today and the current info is there. I will not be fishing in the tourney but I hope to take my son to the river fest. looking forward to seeing you guys up on the podium.

Thats great, you guys had such good luck. I tried a couple of the spots Brandon gave me but only a couple of small fish...but only my second trip out on the river.

You guys are a great help. I'm learning more each visit.

You fish the James and say you are too new to fish an online tourney?

Son, you are about to learn on the BEST catfish river in the US. I just had the best fishing experience of my life there 3 weeks ago.

Start asking questions and there are a lot of guys that will help you out on the technical stuff.

Start following the posts of JPritch and Justlearning. There are some great guides down there too. I wish I was closer than 7 1/2 -8 hours there.

Shew.... you could be a dark horse for your team!

I can't wait to JUly when I get to come try my luck on the James. Are there any good wholes around the Gum SPring's or Short Pump area?
