I caught my second biggest blue today on Lake Wylie. A nice 44 pounder hit a piece of white perch about an hour before dark. Water was moving all day; I assume because of the heavy rains they are calling for tomorrow.

The REALLY COOL thing is that I caught a 33 pound blue cat a few minutes before that 44 pounder that Bowlerman caught in July. I know this because there was a tag in the fish and I was able to look up the information on. I was able to tell what it weighed, and where it was caught and released.

I was shocked at how far the fish traveled in the four months since it was caught, and amazed at the weight change.

I will be send that information out to all the folks that are on the Carolina Catfish Club mailing list, so be sure to PM me if you are not on the mailing list.

:big_smile: man that is toooo!!! cool that we finaly got a repeat offender with the tags:crazy: by the weight and where i thank you were fishing that fish traveled around 15-20 miles and to me that is the coolest thing of all i just hope that the pig in my avatar finds a way back in my livewell for a reunion this winter :wink: i would love to have a chance to put her on a 100lb scale
i hate i missed your call but i am in the middle of jury duty, i'll talk to you wednesday and get the date she was tagged and i will post a picture from her first brush with the ccc and hopefully not her last :crazy: i hope she gained weight. from memory i would say it was around 39-40lb when i caught it , we tagged 6 fish around that size for me in july august so i am assuming it was one of them.

Has there been any discussion of tagging at tournament weigh in? Might be a way for some of us to watch, learn and maybe get started.

i talked to dieter about the fish today we think it actually lost about 4 lb from it's last time being caught we think it could have been the time of year or the fact that it spent over 12hrs in a livewell on my boat and it lost due to stress or it could be the fact that it traveled almost 20 miles upstream from where it was released:crazy:
