mounting my first doe this season. a friend of mine shot her very first deer this year. she is 20 years old and shot this the second day of bow season. the skin was paper thin and hair is so fine it made a nice looking mount. it still needs detailed. i added wall habitat for her as well to make it walk of the wall.

the second pic is a basket 8 my uncle shot. just after mounting.

third pic is my friends dads 8. just after mounting. very nice animal. has a center neck measurement of 31"

couple more of the nice 8.

i invested in a dan d noser tool this season. textured this old mount of mine with it. makes them look real nice. simply spread epoxy over the nose thin. smooth edges. wet roller and roll over epoxy. paint and apply matte finish. adds a real professional look in minutes.

this is a few of this seasons mounts im working on.

couple more pics. doe still with pins in it. a 10 during mounting. the 10 had a busted right main beam. the tip and g4 was gone. im restoring it. still messing with it to get it finished but it was rebuilt in pic just not completely done. if you look close you can see where it was gone. shape it almost perfect with other side. still messing with the color detail. it was broke off just to the left of the cabinet knobs behind it (last pic) right between g3 and g4.

Great work. I especially like that doe, because I know they can be hard to mount. Without horns to distract your eyes, people really look close at the details on a doe. Nice mounts. I love seeing them in the various stages; my husband used to do taxidermy, & I miss seeing them develop!
    Keep up the great work!!:good:

A good friend had a large mouth bass mounted through a lexan table top and a bird on a branch like it was trying to fly away and it was all on a Cypress Knee. It was an awsome mount!
