The 2009 Carolina Catfish Club points race came down to the last event, and three teams were capable of winning. Lindsay Bigham and Michael Holmes had a commanding lead with two victories in a row under their belt, but Cary Vanden Broecke and his partner Matt Barrett, and Jeff Manning and Wayne Lingerfelt could steal the title with a win at Lake Wateree and by catching biggest fish.

In the end it was Lindsay Bigham and Michael Holmes taking home the title for 2009. Their two back to back wins on Mt. Island and Lake Wylie made it tough for anyone else to knock them out of the winner’s seat. The duo narrowly missed winning last years title when they finished in a tie, and the winner was decided by who had caught the largest fish in the series. The team has proven they are a contender for a win anywhere in the Carolinas.

Congratulations to Lindsay and Michael on an outstanding tournament season, and I am sure we will be seeing them fishing the Catawba Catfish Club events throughout 2010.

    2009 Final Points Standings
    1) Lindsay Bigham & Michael Holmes - 24 POINTS
    2) Jeff Manning - 20 POINTS
    3) Cary Vanden Broecke & Matt Barrett - 18 POINTS
