Everyone needs goals, especially those of us who fish. Time to make goals for 2007. About a year from now, I'll bump this post and we can discuss how we did!

    My goals:

Stock up on skip jack like i did two years ago (no skippies last year)

Find a new spot to get yellow-bellies (current spot is Stone Lick Lake, seeking small farm pond).

Put a bigger bait pond on my property.

Find two new holes on the GMR that produce flatties.

    Catch a 30+lb flattie

Get my wife to go out more than twice this year.

Get my son to catch his first cat, bullhead possibly (he is three and has only caught bluegill, with no assistance, mind you)

    Fish with more BOC members.

Get a bigger and better boat (not going to happen!)

My goal of catching a 20+ pound channel cat in my home waters will probably be the hardest one I have set for myself. It just means I have to fish smarter.

couldn't agree more! my goals are to enjoy my hobby and not turn it into work. But if i had to set some I want a 40+ pound blue (really a 50) and be more consistant at catching 20+ pound blues.

He is talking about jackpots at p@ylakes. The name of that lake in his avatar is the name of a p@ylake not too far from where I live.

    My goals are:
to get a channel over 15 lbs,
to get a falltie over 30 lbs
to get a blue over 30 lbs

    On the more realistic side,
Expand my local places to add a few more, get out more on the OR, Scioto and Muskingum rivers
Hopefully sell and replace my boat with a bigger nicer model but that is based on me actually finding a job this year.......

I want to get better at drift fishing on the rivers and become even more bait happy, I got decent at throwing a cast net this year but want to find more consistant places to find bait.
