I have a 200 merc O.B. that for some reason will not start. It has been a little over a month since I ran the boat and had no difficulty at that time. I tried running it today. It cranked really well, but got no indication that it was firing. It was almost like the deadman switch was holding it out, but visual check did not show anything. I was working on a wiring problem associated with live well pumps, and all of it is on same panel. Is there a way to, at the engine, disconnect or jump the switch (whichever lets it run) to ensure that is not the problem? Also, is there an easy way for the layman to at least determine if we have a fuel vs firing problem? Is there some computer that controls all firing? I would apprciate any help. I have never had the case where the motor did not at least spit and sputter after a month or so of inactivity. Thanks so much
