1- Never, ever fish with live bait..If your bait is alive when you get to the river KILL iT !!!!!

2- Never, ever fish after dark, high noon till 6pm is there prefered feeding paterns.

Disclaimer, this might not work for everyone, but it does for me:smile2:

Don't listen to this guy, He is full of it.
Nevermind, if you don't have baitfish to kill, bring some hotdogs. If you soak them in Green jello they do better.

    Jack,
You forgot to mention that flatheads also love heavy current and are most active when the water temp is between 35 and 40 degrees:wink:

It also helps if you slap an oar on the surface every 5 minutes.

Alright Jack looks like you need someone on your side. Personally for me it's whenever I can get out and if the bait is dead or alive it goes into the water, I found this little trick to be most helpful. The reason why im agreeing with you is both of my largest Flatheads came in the mid day time frame, on dead bait. 55# and 57#. So there ya go. We never know everything we think we should.

Have you tried dynamite Jack? I hear that works well on alot of rivers as well... But, if you are a CPR guy, you may wanna stick to the oar slapping Skip was explaining! rollo
