I getta go deer hunting again, yipee! In northern Minnesota the DNR opened up an area for 2 more weeks from Dec. 29 to Jan. 13. They want to eliminate the deer in area 101 due to TB being found in 8 cattle heards and in 3 deer they had tested during the hunting season. Any Minnesota license holder can hunt this area and buy as many tags as deer they can shoot for $2.50 ea. When this extra season is over they are going to do a fly over and send in sharp shooters for the remaining deer in this area. It is bound to hurt hunting for a couple years, though it must be done to keep TB from spreading amongst the cattle.
