Do you folks think a #2 kahle hook would be good to catch baitfish with? And has anyone used a kahle that small before?I use the big ones for cats and love them and find i have more hook ups using the kahles,so i was wandering if the small ones work good as well.

My current favorite is a Gamakatsu #8 Drop Shot hook - perfectly shaped for catching bluegill and unbelievably sharp. And so far, not a single swallowed hook in about 50 fish.

I think a #2 is a little big, and not sure you need the Khale hook in any case.

i would be just using them for small fish, bluegill size, mybe small 12 inch channels, but mainly just for bait fish only. When i go catfishing i always take a pole with a small hook and use nightcrawlers to try to catch some bluegills for bait.I normally just fish with the heads and take the rest to my grandmother, she loves bluegills.

personally I have become a great fan of the circle hook, it takes all the guess work out of when to try to set the hook you just let them run and when you line straightens out they are hooked. You just let them do the work. So I'm thinking a smaller circle hook would be great as far as bluegill or any other bigger fish for that matter. shad and skipjacks are another story though.
