Fished for about 2.5 hrs and the wind was cold and brutal. Did not get any bites at all and we decided to call it a day. As we were packing it in, I glanced over at my rig and saw it move a little and told my buddy either the cold is messin with my mind or I just got a bite. I decided to leave it for another 10 min and wham!!! He hit it like a hunertfity pouner. Got him in and did not have a scale but did have my camera. Hes no huge monster but Ill take him for my 1st fish of 2010.

Nice catch! The best part of that skippy (the head) was still laying on the bait board.

Cool you released the big cat.. When I was young, we kept all the big cats and complained about how bad they tasted cause you can't really clean all the fat off to taste like a small one. I don't keep them once they are around 10 pounds cause it's a waste to me to eat and certainly a waste to keep and not be caught another day.

Hit old hick today. Hit the steam plant at first light and hammered the skips but after we had 20 we left to catch some cats. We ended up with about 50 fish in the boat from 1 lb. to 12 lbs on average. We boated one good one. Didn't weigh him but I have caught a few so I'd say he was between 50 and 60lbs. a nice blue for old hick.. They are biting go get em guys.

Went back out today and got a goose egg. Got a few bites but no commits. Of course I was using large skips cut in half. Very large bait for this time of year.

John...skipjack heads are working great for me right now. The bigguns seem to be hitting everything from skippy heads to small pieces of cut shad....about 1" in diameter. If you bait it....they will come! Good Luck Bro!
