Finally I can say I got a cat!! First one since October of last year (back when I was new to the BOC).

My dad joined me at the river today around noon and soon I caught a channel cat, then another one, then a drum. Before the big bite started I had been catching numerous small-to-medium bigmouth and smallmouth bass. Then the bite picked up and my first two cats took my bait like champions and I hooked em right where I wanted. They looked about 2-3 lbs each. The first one is in my avatar and the second one is posted here.

Man, I haven't felt that solid, heavy hookset in a long time. It was great to feel it again.

    Tight lines,
    Catman

    LOL, thanks
Harpeth river, TN. A lot of people call it a creek, but whatever it is it's my best fishin spot, producing 5 lb drum, 4 lb channel cats, 10 lb carp & buffalo, 5 lb bigmouth bass, lots of smallies, big gar and even....turtles.

A month or two ago I was hiking a trail just upstream from my fishin spot - came to a spot where I saw some carp, big deep area, with huge sycamore trees hangin over the water, and saw near the bank the biggest bass I've ever seen in the Harpeth. Looked like it might have been over 5 lbs. Didn't have a rod w/ me, but he's still in there somewhere.
