    Hey guys,
A friend gave my a yamaha 2 hp to play with. Says on the motor 100:1 oil mix. Kind of lean if you ask me. Any thing wrong with 50:1? would 100:1 be better in the long run? thanks in advance.

They latter sent out a bullitin to change that 100:1 mix To 50:1 mix.

My 2006 Yamaha 25hp (bought new in 2007), says 100:1 also. I run 50:1 and I figure more oil is better than less. After talking to the place i bought the motor, the mechanic said run 50:1 (proving my point). The only problem i've ever had that related to the oil was after idling for hours dipping crabs off of bridge pilings, it cut out a couple of times on me. Start it up and rev it up a bit (smoked like crazy), and it cleared itself, good to go for a couple more hours.

They will last a long time on a 100:1 at idle but they won't on it when you use them at higher rpm's just gap your plug a little wider and it should take care of the fouling.
