I got a 1998 mariner that's not getting spark on the bottom cylinder when I first start it, or after it sits a while. It's getting plenty of gas.
It's not the coil. After I run it for about 15 min. on 1 cylinder it tries to go and eventually both cylinders fire and it runs great , it don't miss a beat and usually runs good the rest of the day. I'm thinking it's got to be the switchbox or stator. I don't have the equip to test it. Any help would be appreciated.

There is no test for the switch box but you can test the stator and trigger so if they are good that leaves the switch box to be bad.

I think I found the problem. It was a bad wire going from the switchbox to the coil. I'll know more when I try it tomorrow.
