It really sounds like you have a crossed wire somewhere, I don't think it would be in your timing, it may also be one of your plugs has a crack in it or recheck your gap on the plugs or make sure the plug wires are all the way one the plugs and cap.

It makes a difference on the brand of plugs you are using also, Toys only like NGK or Bosch plugs. NGK is the better plugs.
