    Hi,Bob and Bubba
I have a 1977 25HP Johnson that Shears a couple of pins every time we take it out.
    I don't feel we've hit anything.
It seems to do it after we've shut it down then restart.
Tried buying pins from a couple deferent places.
    Thinking about making some,Any ideas

Has your motor been tuned up so it'll idle smoothly at low rpm's.

You may be shifting into gear at too high an rpm.

Best advice is that if you make your own shear pins, make them from the same material that the factory does. You put steel in there, your gonna have to get a new motor.
