I have a 1973 115hp Evinrude it has a eletric choke. When I push the key in the butterfly closes to choke just like it should. But will not start. The motor has a manual pull choke on the front. When I pull it the motor starts. The eletric choke closes the butterfly just like the pull choke. Any ideals why it will start when I pull the choke.
    Thanks in advance

can you see the choke plate while you are cranking it? the reason i ask is when you pull it manualy it will close and stay closed when you use your electric soleniod it could be opening a little while your cranking it. just a guess.

The electric choke might need adjusted where the solenoid mounts so it pulls the butterfly to a more closed position, like you do manually.

    I've seen it before.
