Does anyone know much about these engines. I just bought one and was told it ran. When I got home I could not get it to run. I do have gas, compression, and fire. Anyone have any idea's of where to look next. Thanks

If you have compression and spark, what I would do is squirt some pre-mixed fuel into the carb throats. If it fires for a second or two this way, the problem is the carbs. This just bypasses the function of the carb and would show that they are the problem.

I once used an 80 hp merc that had to be choked to the point of sending a gas slick out from the engine. It was about a 72'.

Try choking it first, then try squirting fuel into the carb throats

I will do as you two advised. I have taken note that while there is gas getting to cylnders 1, 3, and 4. Number 2 is dry as a bone. I guess maybe I need to rebuild both Carbs, what do you think?
