1970 Sears outboard

    we have a 1972 15hp sears outboard motor.. weve replaced the gaskets, the spark plugs and done everything we can think of, yet we still cant get this engine running? any suggestions would help tremendously!

    Kevin have you done a compression check and spark check? Also have you tried to dissconnect your kill switch. If I can remember correctly that engine still had the points under the flywheel and if you disconnect the kill switch just let both black wires hang by themselves. In other words don't connect then to any thing because that is what grounds oput the points to kill it.

    You can make you a spark tester. I'll post a picture of one I made for a four cylinder.
