just reading the illinois department of natural resources police blotters and two men were arrested for illeagaly snagging belowe the dam of carlyle and had in there possesion a 138 pound flatty ,dident say much more but im still lookin

Geez.... With all the gar in that area you would think them flathead's would starve to death..

sure wish we had some pics its gonna eat 20lb big heads lol!:excruciating:

If you read the text of the report it actually says they were in possession of 138lbs of flathead catfish. Thats a LOT different than a 138 lb flathead catfish.

Here is the actual report:

A Clinton County officer made several arrests over the course of a week on subjects illegally snagging fish below the Carlyle Lake Dam. Two subjects were in possession of 138 lbs of Flathead Catfish. The officer has filed for civil penalties against the subjects for the illegal fish.

138 pound flatty would'nt suprise me out of there . He could munch carp all day without moving . I wonder how many fish they had to make that 138 pounds . Must have been some greedy mofo's to keep that much and still be trying for more ....lol

Think how many they have snatched out of there in the past .

slippy im glad you are observant and you caught both of them
heading to carlyle in search of the sauger ,striper,channel, flatty and blue gonna get the wolfe boys in a little coors light challenge at the spillway, you need directions,sounds like a challenge
