  1. NEW MEXICO RIVER TALK
I have been fishing the Rio Grande from Albuquerque to Elephant butte for a little while now and have been trying to gather some information but the New Mexico state sub forum has been dormant for a while. Anyone fish the Rio Grande?

  3. MEMBER FISHING REPORTS (BECOME A FISHING LEGEND)
Been fishing as much as possible- pushing for 1,000 fish for the year and only 100 away!. Catfish have made the bulk of the fish, with most 3-6 lbs, but topped recently by this nice channel at 28" and just under 11lbs! Drum, carp, trout, bluegill, green sunfish, bass, ( another IGFA grand slam...
  4. All Catfishing
I fish a local man made lake here in California for channel cats. I fish from a kayak. The lake is fairly flat, about thirteen feet at most, a few islands, a lot of overgrown cattails. My question is, how do you fish for larger cats when there really isn't any deep water? I have caught a couple...

So....finally made my first two MO river trips.......and..........it was a blast!!!. 8. MEMBER FISHING REPORTS (BECOME A FISHING LEGEND)
So, I admit, I'm a pathologic fisherman.....fortunately, there's no 12 step program and I wouldn't take it anyway.......not so many catfish or carp so far, but pushing 500 fish, including a bass grand slam (3 species in a day), a bass super grand slam (4 species in a day), some trout, panfish...
  9. LOCAL KANSAS TALK
Took the daughter out fishing yesterday and she landed a biggin! It wasn't an accident, she is an avid catfisher! She has her own Ugly Stik Catfish combo spooled with 20# Ande Monster mono. We were fishing for bait and she caught a decent crappie. I asked her if she wanted to keep it to eat...
  10. LOCAL KANSAS TALK
March 10th was the day my daughter could no longer wait another day to wet a line. She got a brand new catfish pole for Christmas and she intended to break it in! It was a bit colder then I was hoping for that day (46°F) but that wasn't going to stop her. I decided to try out the 25 acre...
  11. KANSAS CATFISHING
Catching monster channel cats here in north eastern Kansas this year came quite unexpectedly. I have been a cat fisherman since I was old enough to hold a pole, but this year came as a huge surprise. It all started when I took my pile of 6 kids to a small walk-in fishing lake a couple miles...
  12. Homemade baits
Hi, I'm Christopher. I live in Southern Mississippi and have been fishing for channel catfish practically my whole life. For over a year now, I've been experimenting with making my own punch baits. This is the basic recipe and process I currently use to make my bait. I am constantly...

  15. MEMBER FISHING REPORTS (BECOME A FISHING LEGEND)
Well, fished for 1 hour and 20 minutes and BOOM, two flatheads and 3 channels, and this time, caught all hits......the flatheads went 11-1 and 15-10 and both were very fat, the channels not so much......terrific storms through the day and the lake is dingy but cleared just in time for some...

  18. MEMBER FISHING REPORTS (BECOME A FISHING LEGEND)
Hi all! ( and thanks for all the tips and advice!) Mr Bush Hog was kind enough to invite me on a trip to Truman tailwaters/Osage river last Friday to show me the ropes of drift bumping for blues....After a 2 hour rain delay (mostly lightening), we headed out. He was a gracious host and...
  19. MEMBER FISHING REPORTS (BECOME A FISHING LEGEND)
Nice channel on live bluegill, but tough night- 3-5 "hits" on the bluegill but only one fish; after an hour of trying to find shad (without a fish finder!) but did find a needle in a haystack on shore :tongue1:............anyway, this fish fought hard-nice ending to a long night!!! Kirk
  20. MICHIGAN LAKES / RESERVOIRS TALK

The past few days I’ve been studying maps of Holloway Reservoir. My plans is to target larger Channel cats...
