SUMMER TIME, yes it's hot.

Guess I'm not getting on here as much as I should. Things are keeping me busy.
My son bought a 10X20 greenhouse. I had 600 tomato and 200 pepper plants, thought I could cash in on some sells. I sold 60 for 2/$1, that paid for the seeds and some of the potting soil. Another 60 went to family and myself. I had ads online and signs out, just no takers. Messing with the plants I missed out on spring fishing. By the time I could get out it was hot. We had 2 camp and fish weekend before grandkids went back to school.
My second grandson graduated last year, ROTC with honors. Had him all set to go to MISS STATE. Decided that school might turn on as home school so he joined the Marines. He left home on 08/05. We were camping and didn't get to see him off.

While in boot camp, there are several things you can do to bring him to everyones attention. Have his grandma send him a really big box of cookies is one way to get him noticed. haha, that isn't the best thing to do.

But the best thing to do is write him a letter or three. A Marine in boot camp can always use something to help him remember that life on the outside is still moving along and if he plays his cards right he will be out on parole before too long. The first couple of month, there is not anything that they can do correctly. The last month the Drill Instructors start putting the pieces back together to make a Marine. When I went thru in 1967, boot was three months long. Don't know if that has changed or not.

He is becoming the 1% (counting all branches) that are willing to defend this country.

Pin the tail on old Mac.

Breathing test at the hospital went OK, but a tad taxing. Then in the early PM the Squaw drove me over to Hickory to the VA clinic so they could work on my hearing aids. The tech came out to our car in the parking lot, got the hearing aids and went back in the clinic. Thirty minutes +- she returned with the hearing aids in working condition.

Rain here in my parts most of the AM, heavy downpours to drizzles. Flood warnings in low lying areas. Suppose to be clear today and tomorrow.

Later Gators.

Mac,
More national attention needs to be brought to the tegu problem. They dont seem to be spreading in South Ga. as quickly as they have in south Fl. Still not good for the local and endangered wildlife. Biologist are very concerned about gopher tortoise nest and indigo snakes. Also wild turkey populations are struggling all over the south. Do not need another nest predator.

Jimmy,
Joining the military was the best decision i have ever made.

Ditto. I was a troubled soul and close to doing some things that I shouldn't. So I joined the USN and after thirteen weeks of boot camp, my outlook was changed forever.

Thinking back when I joined this site, 08/15/05 isn't right. The site was reworked and I had to join again for some reason. My first gathering was at Morrilton, AR where I met a lot of members that I only seen post. Very little fishing, more bs and I had a great time. Before I set my tent up I sat talking with Bad Karma, Johnnie and Gene. Over the next couple of years Bad Karma from Oxford, MS and I would meet at Sardis lake to fish the day away. And met at a couple of more gatherings. Johnnie, I think was from Winona, MS had retired from a plastic injection molding company and the plant closed. He bought a couple of the injectors. At the table he had 2 spools that he had made. I ended up buying a few of each. One spool would fit half inch pvc on one side and 3/4 on the other. The other spool would fit a small drink bottle threads and the other side would fit the larger mouth 3 liter bottle or gallon jug. Gene and Johnnie were talking about forming a company to sell fishing supplies that you don't see very much and everyday supplies too. Wild Wolf Products was born. Johnnie made a lot of the products and some that were used in the assembly of other products. He got Gene stocked up, left and I never heard from him again. He didn't post much and I can't remember his screen name. Years went by and ShilohRed bought the company. Years ago I ordered from ShilohRed, Wild Wolf. The pvc spool was the only one that showed on the website. All other products that Gene and Johnnie had started were still there plus a lot that Pete had added. The website is closed. Pete posted on another fishing website on 03/10/2016 that he had a rough time launching his boat, went to the doctor and had more heart problems. On 04/01/16 we were having a fish & camp dinner. On 03/26/16 he posted that he would bring a boston butt and home made sauce. That's the last post I saw. His campsite reservation started on 03/29/16. He was a no show. I haven't found any info on him since.

Congratulations on your grandson making the choice to become a Marine. Will open many doors for him in life and teach him life skills early you do not learn in life till your a lot older.
Make shure you send him some crayons he might need them for a snack. It’s a marine thing with the younger marines. He and his battle buddys will find it funny.
