Has anyone been snagging at Lock and Dam #2 recently and did you do any good? I haven't been in several months and have the itch but I'm being told that I would be wasting my time this time of year....
Caught 2 about 15 lbs each last Friday. Guy next to me caught what i guesstimate 40lb spot. Snagged for 4 hours, thats all fish i saw. Fishing not good at L&D2, but hear reports of many fish caugt at Hydroelectric dam in Simmsport.
Reek, I was thinking about this yesterday. Been watching the Mississippi water temps. The river is on a steep rise right now, and I may head to Simmesport next weekend, as I'll be that direction anyway. The only thing I've snagged recently was a bream, he hit the jig with his forehead!
I'm getting interested in the art of snaggin,,, I was at Lock 2 Sunday evening watching. No one was really catching anything as the water was really low. I know that time will soon be here to snag. What conditions should I be looking for?
Went out to Lock and Dam #2 on Saturday and it was really cold and windy. I didn't snag, but saw a couple other folks with some gaspergou and carp. Also saw someone pull in two 'gou within five minutes on bait...they must have been thick in the tailwater there.
Look at a map and find where a large creek or small river empties into the Red thats where the fish are.
