Ok B's, here we go again, for the 7th time.
Sam and I said this post needs to have some mention of the Spoonbill hex and other Voodoo weather hexes Johnny throws at us.:sneaky:

Ok, now on to my fishing day.
My dad and I fished Greers today and I took him to the farthest reaches of Middle Fork. We went to a shoal and that was far enough in the ComboCat.
We were just fishing and not targeting any particular fish. Of course, whenever we got into some White Bass, I would get some texts from the Big Man, but I can't repeat them on here, unless there isn't a filter:sneaky:
Anyway, we caught 30-40 White Bass, Black Bass, Brown Bass, Crappie and even 3 big Hybrids. I did have a monster crappie I saw, but it pulled off.
I spit out the infamous Jimmy Swaggart quote....."Forgive me Sammy, for I have sinned...", when I tied on a Spinnerbait and pounded some buck brush. No fish until my dad swung in a nice 18" largemouth on it.
I just fried the bass and crappie, and am about to enter coma #37 for 2015.

There is a lot of Nasty Weather out there now. I sure hope all of us in Ark are spared and prayers to those in Okla and other areas for the damage they have had.

Nope, no fishing. Worked around our land but my neighbor went bream fishing and didn't want to clean 12 big bream, so I did the neighborly thing and took care of them right quick...:geek:.
It's hot down here boys. 96 with at least 8 days of heat and no rain.

Made a 4am quick trip to one of those lakes starting with a "W". Fished until the heat and humidity was a little too much and headed in about 10am.
No flow and no wind, but I managed blues from 1-12 pounds.
Found the fish around 32' and fresh jacks were the ticket.
It was good getting out but until the flow is increased, I'll stay at home and work around here.
It's sad, as my friends about 400 miles from here have WAY TOO MUCH current.

Well its 562,000cfs today at Barling....they abandoned the dam its totally engulfed .... had to do a personnel rescue out with a helicopter the other day:confused: the levees we got aint been tested with a flood since they were built....some are about to give......its free fishing weekend in Oklahoma this Saturday & Sunday;) Terry get in those weeds and heavy cover if ya can launch legally at Kerr....way back in the refuge in the fields should hold fish " IF" it is accessible....i doubt it is.....you could definitely fish Big San-bois end with out being in danger of 560,000cfs debris:pacs_foe: I heard they were fishing that end....i havent been since me and johnny went the day before the flood hit dardnelle....

Well, I know Sam and he has sense enough to stay away from flow like that.
But, when it does subside, I am sure the big man will be back at it.
This just might be the first summer without running the RC until maybe Sept.:mad1::cry::laugh:
I hope there isn't anymore damage from that flood, but a few "cfs" down here in Wheeler would be fine with me.
There might be a thermocline setting up.:pacs_foe:

Just talked to our sister-in-law and the Illinois river is going to be within 2feet of toping the levy down there. :eek1: That was before the rain last night. Last time it topped the levy it was bluff to bluff and 18 feet deep over houses and farmland.:unhappy: Hope and pray it doesn't get any worse . Hang in there Sam the Arkansas will go down some day. :sneaky:

Our old home town, Hardin, is flooding bad.:( They are closing the bridge, the only way into the county, down today. They said anyone with a serious medical condition should evacuate and go to Jersyville. The last time the levy broke down there the land behind the Levys was covered with 18 feet of water and a 13 mile trip to Jersyville became a 100 mile trip through country roads on top of the ridges that run the length of the county.:eek1: Not a good situation.:mad1:

Man, this flooding is everywhere. My sister is a news anchor up in Iowa and has been reporting on flooding up there along the big river as well.
Speaking of river, T and I are in Owensboro, Kentucky now, along the Ohio river.
Making one last trip up here to a building supplier for 2 railings for our back deck/ramp.
Driving here in my truck saves big moolah versus their shipping.:sneaky::happy:
Haven't heard from the big man today, but Jr has reported in with updates on his wife and her procedure she was having.
Johnny is probably working a double, triple, full time shift to keep the water out of their plant in Ft Smith.
Cubs are leading the cardinals so life is good.

Back from Kentucky and already been sweating bullets. Been working in my garden since about 5:45am.........got to make sure Sammy has enough tomatoes when/if he gets down here.
Fishing might be in the future but it will depend on current.
I saw yesterday on my way home that the TVA nudged it up to about 36K. I am ready for some punchbait fishing but gotta have current.
Speaking of, I sure hope that current on the Ark settles down with minimal damage. Sure is a sad situation..
Got a text from Johnny saying some have launched on Kerr, probably out of a parking lot, but at least they are launching.
Everyone stay cool and hydrated.
Our LAST piece of the house puzzle is going up today....GUTTERS.
T and I will start burying drain pipe we're putting in from the downspouts to move the water away from these flower beds she has built.
Steaks will probably be on the menu tonight to celebrate getting this house finished.
STB, it's been a long time coming

I put in on the road at Bekeart Wednesday (beside Field of Dreams). All the backwater I found was moving fast through the trees. I got up in the mouth of Lee Creek to the first rail bridge. The bridge was in the water but very little current there. No bites on live perch or worms. I’d guess the cats were gorged on worms by then. Very little debris on the river from Garrison bridge to the I-540 bridge. I guess most had sunk by then.

Well the levy's gave way down by Hardin.:unhappy: The only way out of Calhoun County is now to drive north, then east, then south again. What took 20 minutes to get to Jerseyville now will take 3hours. A lot of homes are under water and there will be big losses.:mad1: The farms of course are done for this year. Terrible situation.:unhappy:

Well our river is going down its 198,000 cfs right now....Billy took time to get a shot of Turkeys on higher ground..
Wild turkey Turkey Bird Domesticated turkey Galliformes

IT was on the news warning people to wear masks while at the river ...the water is highly polluted and a good risk of some nasty bacteria....I havent fished in 4 weeks so lets add a few more i reckon...not supposed to rain for a few days.....No one around here has been fishing..... Mowed and weed-eated 2 yards on the weekend...Im down:bruised: I also need to clean the Rocket for lift off when appropriate...right now the launch has been grounded due to weather:oops::oops::oops:

Called the big man this morning. Had a good talk until he was interrupted by a phone call at his work.:bruised: You need to hurry up and retire from work and your lawn service and move down here.
My garden is starting to come in, so it's a fresh veg festival starting to happen.
We could fish 6 days a week and take one off.:biggrin1:
Tempting enough???

I would like nothing more than to disappear for a "spell" but i must stay and work my self to death:bruised:....some day i hope to drive away for the last time.......you will need to feed me ...house me.......take me fishing.......i will need a weekly allowance......fresh garden vegetables.....transportation........boat to fish with.......i will bring clothes ...tools...fishing gear....... now lets focus on the "rumor"... I was told by a gentleman who's nephew may or may not work for the corps of engineers in Arkansas, that there are 3 dams defective and will not be able to lock barge traffic....:o_O: I also came over the Arkansas bridge and there was a huge pile of sand where it used to be 30ft deep:eek: STB the channel markers are all gone....This will be a debacle for a long time......

It is amazing how powerful and unpredictable the rivers are. We need to work with them not control them. The road that would lead to Jersyville is currently under 16 feet of water. It will be months before the roads are usable again. The commercial fishermen say it is really dangerous when the wind gets up because it is a 10 mile lake now with a current going north to south and a prevailing wind that is southwest to north. Not good.

yeah, good old Jimmy C on the weather channel just put you on the Torcon of 3 for later on.
We are getting a shower today and have off/on rain predicted for the next few days.
Big things happening here this week, but I'll reveal by text and phone call.
