im thinking about buying this for the kayak but some people are saying it doesnt come with all the wiring? also it apparently needs to be located in certain spots? where would you think that would be on a kayak?
Oh I'm not sure if it will work I was actually wondering why it wouldn't. Maybe I can go to bass pro and see if they will match the transducer up to see if it'll work.
Could call the manufacturer too. The holes on my boat didn't match the hole pattern on my transducer mount so all I did was make an adapter of 1/2" polypropylene. A couple of flat head screws from Lowe's. Need a drill press, a table top will do, drill press vice, countersink tool, drills, tap handle and correct tap. Mine was 10-24. Aluminum would work.
A cutting board is made of thick plastic and is tough. Have those at Wal Mart. Winco - CBWT-610 - 6 in x 10 in x 1/2 in White Cutting Board is $2.99. What I found is drilling in plastic the drill will crawl sideways if the piece is not secured. If you know some one who has some experience making things like a machinist and knows drill sizes etc. it is simple. A gunsmith is set up to make things too. May be someone in your neighborhood. Only thing my experience is machinist are cranky and have peculiar personalities so can be hard to get to know.
