Just wondered who from St Louis area is planning to attend the Catfish Conference this year? (24-25 Feb 18 in Louisville, KY) Went last year & had a blast! Saw a few local folks there & wondered if more of you were planning to go. (We're arriving Friday & going both days.)

Well, the conference is about 5 days away and the weather is (somewhat) known. The weathermen for Louisville are no better then the weathermen in other areas but, since the conference is in a building it isn't that important.

Saturday, expect an 80% chance of rain with the temperature in the 60ish* area.

Sunday, the rain should be done and you get AM clouds and some PM Sun. Temps just above 60*.

This may help you decide what to pack.

Last year, there was free parking to be had but it wasn't always easy to find.

For you (one day traders) drive safe on the wet roads.

See ya there

Just got home from spending Saturday at the Catfish Conference in Louisville. I had a good time as always. (my third year)

In case you want to know, the Ohio River is UpUpUpUp. Be a good time to bottom bounce until all those big logs plowed you under. But the river needed a good flushing.

I am typing real quietly since I bought three TWC rods,,,,,,,that the war department does not know about. Left them in the truck for now. Hahaha, no it doesn't matter, I can easily handle some yelling and at least one good beating a week. :bruised: But anyway, three TWC Extremes for $64 and change each.

I saw several USCA members there. First I met Express18 & Storm44. Then in a seminar about livewells, aeration with air & oxygen pots and cons, I talked to Typer181 and Mr Catfish. and finally I ran into tstarkey73 and a friend of his.

The only one I thought I might meet was Wadekaminski but no such luck.

Hope everyone makes it home safely. Rained the entire way.

Good seeing you there Tom! Also nice to meet you tstarkey73!

We went downtown for food after the conference, and the Ohio was literally coming up the road toward the buildings! Could just about cast to the water from Main St. All this rain tonight could make for some bad flooding. Everyone be safe!

Glad you were there Wade. Sorry I missed you. I would liked to have picked your brain about walking/bouncing/back bouncing so far as it could be used in our slowww river current on the Ohio. There has to be a good method to simulate it and I will spend more time this year working on finding it.

Wesley, I had two of the Black and Blue TWC rods and have used them for a couple of years. This time I specifically wanted the Red and White version. Now I bought three but will only keep two. One I am giving to my son in Knoxville. So far I have only used the TWCs when on the river and the two new rods will balance out the TWCs on the boat. The older I get the more anal retentive I seem to get. Now, I still have 2 Rippin Lips Med Heavy rods. The third one I had is going to my son also.

Now my son is older at 37 years of age so these gifts are not for just his benefit. When I go to visit (and fish the Tennessee River) It will be nice to have good rods already there to use.

tight lines.

Thanks Tom when I watch Steve Douglas with his TWC I drool over the aluminium reel seats and cork handles.
