Has anyone done any bank fishing here? I'm thinking about planning a camping trip there for a week this March. They have campgrounds right on the river, but I've never fished so far upriver on the James. Any other recommendations for places with good camping and bank fishing would be appreciated. Thanks guys.
March might be a tad early in the season. Your big species there would be flathead. I've seen some 40s. You could alternatively do musky or smallmouth. I've wanted to stay their myself as it's only about a little over an hour away. But have never gotten the chance yet. There is supposed to be good access on site from what I hear.
That's about what I figured. It's the only place I could find in Virginia with campgrounds right on the river...I'm hoping the campsites are in a decent fishing area. I want to find a place where I can fish pretty much continuously for a week...
