New to the board, Live in San Diego county but hit the Imperial valley a fair bit after the daylight silliness change.

All these crickets in the forum would make good bait. ;)

Usually in the central main. Depends the time I have. Mostly don't get out there with much daylight. I hear the cats are more on a daytime pattern right now so I've been sitting it out until they switch to night.

Drive out with loads of gear in the Outback, drive along the dirt and stop to fish.

You may not be interested in ancient history but in case you're a little bored.....
I haven't fished California since the seventies...but dang we had a blast. My cousin lived in Fountain Valley and there was a park that had a lot of nice catfish in it. Then we went down to Newport? and took out some party boats. There was one that was kind of a mini bay trip and then other times we took the boat out to Catalina. We caught Calico bass, mackerel, Bonita and the highlight was yellow tail. I managed to hook one and it emptied my 6000C of line! One time a guy got so drunk he jumped off and swam to the island (true story...). I remember the price of the trip back then was twenty one dollars a head. Also a big event was eating at a place called the Crab Cooker!! We also fished at Seal Beach or around it, IIRC a party boat took people out to a sunken barge or something.
One time I went to Philmont Scout ranch and when I got finished my family picked me up on their way from Texas and we continued out to California. Some good times!!!!!
